Adaptive subdivision in Blender

Now this is very interesting. I downloaded a huge build of Blender from graphicall.org which is packed to the brim with all the extras you could want. Probably. But that’s not the point of this post. Inside the build is a new modifier called ‘Adaptive Sudivision’. What this does is, it subdivides objects depending on how far away they are from the camera. The closest parts of the object get the most heavily subdivided.

How cool is that? And it’s STILL COMPLETELY FREE!!
